Installé depuis peu comme entraîneur, Nicolas Guilbert n’en a pour autant pas perdu sa soif de victoires en tant que jockey. En déplacement à Milan aujourd’hui, la cravache d’or 2018 s’est imposé en selle sur Matey. Patient en début de parcours, le 6 ans entraîné par Giuliano Rota a tout simplement transpercé ses adversaires dans la ligne droite, confirmant sa belle victoire obtenue dans le Grand Handicap de Merano le mois passé, déjà avec le concours de Nicolas Guilbert.
